Ways to Get Involved |
About Friends of CASACASA has counted on its volunteer auxiliary, Friends of CASA, for more than ten years. Friends provide invaluable assistance in fundraising, public relations, mailings, committee work and special events. Friends was founded in 1999 by former Advocate and Board member Kathy MacDonald, along with current Friends President Claire McAdams, Kay Bartlett, Katie Bates, Elaine Carrigan, Lynn Hawkinson, Eileen Hodges, Marilyn Maurer, Anne McCallum, Cynthia Rees, Jane Stevens and others.During its first two years, Friends of CASA raised more than $50,000, designating $5,000 to help establish CASA’s endowment fund. Today, Friends of CASA is more vital than ever. Its annual February luncheon, “For the Love of Children,” raises over $10,000 each year to replenish the CASA Children’s Fund, which pays for things such as tutoring, karate lessons, science camp, a soccer uniform, a prom dress, school pictures… many of the things CASA’s children would otherwise go without. If you are interested in joining Friends of CASA, e-mail Linda@casaofsantacruz.org. We welcome your inquiry! And to every Friend of CASA –past, present and future- our deepest gratitude for your hard work, your generous heart and for the precious gift of your time.
